Matter and Its Properties 1/26
Surprise: I was at home and then I heard the doorbell ring. When I looked outside I was so shocked because it was a present for me. It was a beautiful doll. It was so surprising because I thought I already got all of my gifts. This applies to real life because you never know what's coming (good or bad).
Summary: This week we started off with reviewing matter with a Bill Nye video. Then, the rest of the week we continued with all the experiments. Even though it wasn't an M&M, it was powders, it was still quite fun. I am really looking forward to finding out what the unknown powder is.
Backward-Looking: I have really gotten better at experiments. I know how to prepare and conduct them. I knew how to I am just getting more and more accurate when I conduct my experiments. Not only that my group has gotten better at distributing the jobs of preparing and conducting an experiment. Now we each get to do something at least once maybe even more.
Inward-Looking: This week I enjoyed pretty much everything. I loved all the experiments, the Bill Nye video, and the worksheets. I enjoyed the Bill Nye video because he makes matter so fun and shows how people see it everyday. The experiment was fun because we had to really use our senses to make our prediction for the unknown substance. The worksheets that went along with everything were fun because It helped me understand matter more and the experiment.
Outward-Looking: We technically did the same experiments and worksheets as everyone else. One difference is that the group near us had a different hypothesis than our group. My group came up with sugar because they were both sticking to the paper when we dumped them out. But the other group thought that it was Epsom salt because of the color. Overall some was the same, but some was different.
Forward-Looking: If I had a chance to redo the assignment, I would. I might've compare my Epsom Salt so I could compare what I know about the unknown to the Epsom Salt. I would redo the worksheet on Bill Nye because now I am not as confused about physical and chemical changes and properties. I would like to see if I could do a better job at everything we did this week. I would redo some of the work, but I am happy with my work this week.
