The Battle Of Organelles 9/11/16

This is a poster from our campaign.

Summary: As our campaign began to come to a close, it was time to wrap up as much as we could. Although the campaign still has a couple of days left my group and I have finished almost everything. This final week my group and I accomplished so much because we all helped each other out. If one person wasn't free to make a poster, the would make up for it by making an extra smear. While smearing my group and I figured out that you have to be careful with your choice of words. This is because it can easily be interpreted in a different way than intended. As well as that, since we filmed over the three day weekend we have some time to edit and make the video entertaining, but informative. Something I am very glad we did was look at the rubric for each component, the citations, the smears, the video, and the posters. Due to this I believe our project will be better than it would have been if we didn't look at the rubrics. Even though most of the information we used was from last weeks research, I still learn very key skills when working on a project.

S&EP-Communicating Information: While campaigning for the positioning of president of cell land we had to complete the task of creating posters. Putting these posters around the classroom would communicate why our candidate, Larry Lysosome, is the best organelle for the job. My group and I used catchy slogans to grab peoples attention. Each slogan conveys the message of Larry Lysosome being the best candidate for cell lands new president. Also, we used pictures and graphics. On some of our posters the picture just shows Larry Lysosome, but in others it shows some of his functions. Ex. In the poster above it shows Larry the Lysosome, while in another poster it shows him throwing waste into the recycling bin. That shows one of his functions, releasing waste into the cytoplasm. As mentioned above we clearly checked the rubric to make sure each poster met it. I feel like posters are a wonderful way to communicate information because it can be both informative and visually pleasing.

XCC-Systems: As campaigning for a president of cell land takes place, we must not forget the system of the cell. Every organelle has gotten smeared or has smeared someone. The smears may target specifics, like the way the organelle is shaped, but overall the smears are saying that other organelles should not belong in the cell. If any organelle were missing the cell would not function the way it does. For instance if the lysosome weren't in the cell cannot survive. Since lysosomes break down food molecules, dead organelles, viruses, and bacteria the cell would be waste infested. The cell would be unable to survive if the lysosomes we not there. This is true for other organelles, as well. During campaigning, we should all remember the cell depends on each and every organelle, but some do play a more important role.

Multiplier: This week I was a creator mutant because when work needed to be done I did as much as I could, but I encouraged my team to do their part.
